Have you seen those crazy milkshakes like the ones from Black Tap in NYC that are all over Instagram and Pinterest right now? Some of them are a little too over the top for me but I love the theme. So I set out to create a milkshake that was balanced between over the top craziness and a down to earth, quick and easy summer treat. I have a peanut butter addiction so it was only logical that the milkshake would have peanut butter in it somewhere. Combine that with some leftover Fairlife chocolate milk in my fridge and I instantly knew I needed to make a snickers milkshake.

This snickers milkshake is seriously so easy. First melt some chocolate chips, peanut butter, and heavy cream in the microwave. Let it cool then dip your glasses in. Let the ganache set up then cover it in chopped peanuts. Whip some heavy cream with vanilla and a touch of sugar. Next, put some caramel ice cream, chocolate milk, and creamy peanut butter in a blender and voila 1 minute later you have a delicious snickers milkshake. Pour the milkshake into your prepared glasses and top with whipped cream and a chopped snickers bar.

This easy snickers milkshake is the perfect treat for hot summer days. It’s the perfect dessert for when you have a few friends over for a BBQ and you really want to impress them but also don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen. You can even drip the cups in the ganache and whip the heavy cream a few hours ahead of time. Make sure to store the whipped cream in the fridge until you’re ready to use it.

Course: Dessert, ice cream
Servings: 4
Author: Decadence Baking Co.
Ingredients
Ganache
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (3 ounces) milk chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons (24 grams) creamy peanut butter
  • chopped peanuts
Whipped Cream
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 Tablespoon confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Milkshake
  • 4 2/3 cups (800 grams) caramel ice cream (I used Friendly's caramel swirl)
  • 1/2 cup (140 grams) peanut butter
  • 1/2-1 1/2 cups chocolate milk (I used Fairlife chocolate milk)
Toppings
  • Chopped Snickers Bar
  • Caramel Sauce (I used sundae sauce and warmed it up before topping)
Instructions
Ganache
  1. Combine the heavy cream, chocolate chips, and peanut butter in a small microwavable bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir with a wire whisk until smooth. You can put the ganache back in the microwave for 10 second intervals if it isn't smooth after whisking.

  2. Set the ganache aside to cool for 5 minutes.

  3. Then, dip your cups into the ganache. You may need to double dip. Let the ganache set on the cups for 20 minutes. Then sprinkle with chopped peanuts.

Whipped Cream
  1. In a medium metal bowl, whip together the heavy cream, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla. Set aside.

Milkshake
  1. Depending on the size of your blender, you may need to make half of the recipe at a time. Half of the recipe would be the following measurements-2 1/3 cups (400 grams) caramel ice cream, 1/4 cup (70 grams) peanut butter and 1/4-3/4 cups chocolate milk.

  2. Add the ice cream, peanut butter, and 1/4 cup chocolate milk into the blender. Blend until smooth and combined. Add more milk if necessary to achieve the consistency you want.

Assembly
  1. Pour the milkshake into the prepared glasses. Top with the whipped cream. Top with chopped snickers and caramel sauce.

Recipe Notes
This recipe will make 2 large milkshakes like the size shown in the above pictures. It will make 4 smaller milkshakes.
